چکیده

Nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes (NCNTs) have been considered a promising catalyst for the electrochemical reduction of CO2 (CO2ER) to generate CO. Although pyridinic N sites suggested be active center NCNTs, their behavior in reaction remains unclear because lack experimental evidence. Herein we focused on pH dependence CO2ER activity NCNT and investigated effects local at electrode surface estimate catalytic role N. The results situ measurements using surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) revealed that disappears an acidic environment below 4. SERS detected no CO species during electrolyte, ex X-ray photoelectron indicated protonation These suggest N, site NCNT, inhibits adsorption following define activity.

Electrochemical Reduction of Carbon Dioxide on Nitrogen-Doped Carbons: Insights from Isotopic Labeling Studies

Isotopic labeling experiments were performed to better understand the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide on nitrogen-doped porous carbon electrodes. By using nonequilibrated solutions of selectively labeled initial carbon sources (i.e., 13CO2 and H13CO3-), bicarbonate anion was identified as the predominant source of the carbon monoxide reduction product.

Catalytic Aerobic Dehydrogenation of Nitrogen Heterocycles Using Heterogeneous Cobalt Oxide Supported on Nitrogen-Doped Carbon.

Dehydrogenation of (partially) saturated heterocycles provides an important route to heteroaromatic compounds. A heterogeneous cobalt oxide catalyst, previously employed for aerobic oxidation of alcohols and amines, is shown to be effective for aerobic dehydrogenation of various 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolines to the corresponding quinolines. The reactions proceed in good yields under mild conditi...

Controlling the volumetric parameters of nitrogen-doped carbon nanotube cups.

Analogous to multiwalled carbon nanotubes, nitrogen-doped carbon nanotube cups (NCNCs) have been synthesized with defined volumetric parameters (diameter and segment lengths) by controlling the catalyst particle size and the concentration of nitrogen precursor utilized in the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) reaction, allowing for tailored interior cavity space of cross-linked NCNCs, i.e. nanoca...

Optimization and Modeling of CuOx/OMWNT’s for Catalytic Reduction of Nitrogen Oxides by Response Surface Methodology

A series of copper oxide (CuOx) catalysts supported by oxidized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (OMWNT’s) were prepared by the wet impregnation method for the low temperature (200 °C) selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides (NOx) using NH3 as a reductant agent in the presence of excess oxygen. These catalysts were characterized by FTIR, XRD, SEM-EDS, and H2-TPR meth...
